A little about me and my diet journey

My name is Valerie O’Shea and I am 35 years old. I have struggled with my weight since I was in Jr. High. At 21, I married the best guy. I probably weighted about 215 at that time. He still loved me no matter what. In 2002, I had my first son, and gained weight. Then in 2005, I had my second son, and gained yet even more weight. I got comfortable will my life. I had my husband and my kids. I forgot about taking care of me. Over the years, I made half-hearted attempts to lose weight. In May of 2007, I needed new bras. I went to Walmart and they didn’t have my size. I got so frustrated. That was my breaking point. I started eating right and working out. When I started, I weight 274. I was shocked that I let myself get so heavy. But I was determined to change that. By June of 2008, I was down to 164. It was then, that I started to let myself go. I don’t know why, but I did. I slacked off for so long. Between then and October of 2009, I managed to be back up to 225. Once again, I got so angry with myself. I refocused and started watching what I ate and exercising again. As of today, I weight 165. I have lost 109 pounds. I want to get down to 135. Then, I will assess where to go from there if I need to.

When it comes to exercise, I have tried it all. I used to go to a gym, Tae Bo, Walk Away The Pounds, The Biggest Loser, and also Jillian Michaels with varying success. Turbo Jam is the DVDs that I have stuck with. I love doing them. With Turbo Jam, I am starting to see definition in my body. I have never seen this before with other workouts. I am now entering my third week of P90X also. Between P90X and Turbo Jam, I am getting the workout of a lifetime. The results are amazing. Everyday I look at myself in the mirror and I am noticing something different about my body. I have never been so happy with the way that I look. I also have just ordered Shakeology. The combo of all three is going to do wonders for my diet, fitness, and health.

Everyone has been so supportive. My husband, my family, friends, even the people I talk to on twitter. I have had so many people tell me that I should be a Beach Body Coach. So, as of last week, I became one. I am so excited to share my experience with others and help motivate people to achieve their fitness goals.

It has been a roller coaster ride of physical and emotional challenges and changes. I feel this time around, I am so much stronger than before. Nothing is going to stand in my way. I will not stop until every one of my goals is met.
